ABOUT
Hi, I’m Mary Lipp.
I went to school for graphic design, specifically web design, but my real passion is visual storytelling. Design is the synthesis of art and communication, so it felt like a very natural field for me to specialize in. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2021 with my BS in Graphic Information Technology, aka multimedia graphic design, with honors (CHEEHOO!)
I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and drawing digitally since I got my hands on a tablet pen and the family computer. I had a life changing moment as a child when I caught a glimpse of a particularly tender episode of Inuyasha on Adult Swim and my mind was absolutely blown that cartoons could contain such moments of genuine human emotion. Ever since then I’ve been hooked on kitschy, "lowbrow" art and design as a vehicle for authentic emotional connection.
