Ghastly Wailing

attic problem 1

At all hours of the night, but particularly around 3AM, your entire house is permeated with the disembodied sounds of gurgling, wailing, crying, and screaming. These disturbingly annoying noises seem to come from everywhere, but are particularly loud here in the attic, usually accompanied by knocking in sets of threes.

Solution

The ghosts are doing band practice. It’s easiest to set firm boundaries when you first move in to allow the ghosts to only practice during the day when you’re at work, but if you’ve let them go like this for a while, it may be difficult to get them to change their ways. Old habits die hard. Instead, think of the wonderful free live music your house in now filled with. Consider investing in a guitar, keyboard, drums, or theremin and ask the ghosts to learn your favorite songs. Your living house guest will be blown away by the otherworldly quality of your new “sound system.”

Mysterious Box left by Previous Owner

attic problem 2

There’s a mysterious box in your attic, roughly 7 feet long and about 300 hundred years old. It is tightly sealed and impossible to pry open during the day, but occasionally when you visit the attic in the dead of night (to deal with this room’s other eccentricities), you notice it’s wide open. Curiously, it’s lined with plush red velvet and filled with dirt..

Solution

Did you really think you, a millennial of all people, would ever own a home? Ha! This box belongs to the true owner of the house. Treat your landlord with the respect they deserve as a long dead noble of European Aristocracy. Who knows, maybe it’s the sexy sparking kind, or better yet the even sexier bald kind, just waiting for the right moment to whisk you away from your boring mortal life and introduce you to the upper echelons of undead society
